Managing Director (Since 2026)
He has worked over 40 years for Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (J-POWER), mostly on dams and hydropower projects, which involve not only those in Japan but also in abroad, Cambodia, China, Honduras, India, Lao PDR, Nepal, North Macedonia, Peru, Syria, Turkey, Vietnam, etc. Interest on detail design and construction supervision of dams and hydraulic structures has shaped his expertise.
He worked in Nepal as JICA Expert of hydropower planning from 2013 to 2016. He made site investigations at hydropower project sites, and participated in damage survey of hydropower facilities after 2015 Nepal earthquake.
He also worked as a manager of IEA Hydro Task 15 “Maintenance Works and Decision-making for Hydro Facilities” from 2016 to 2018, and established a research policy of the task.
He has served on ICOLD technical committees on reservoir sedimentation, flood evaluation and dam safety, and world resister of dams and documentation. He took up his post of a managing director of JCOLD in April 2026.
