He has worked over 40 years for Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (Japan), mostly on dams and hydropower projects, which involve not only ones in Japan but also in Turkey, China, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippine, Iran, Ireland, etc. Interest on earthquake engineering regarding aseismic design of dams and its appurtenant structures has shaped his expertise and resulted in many technical papers published.
He has served on ICOLD technical committees on embankment dams, flood evaluation and dam safety and world register of dams and documentation. He has been a director of JCOLD since 2019.
